A small coffee shop, a spilled latte, and three years later.

We met in 2023 at a tiny café in Fitzroy. James was reading a book about the philosophy of stillness; Sophia spilled her oat latte on the page. He's still reading the same book.

In November 2025, on a quiet morning at the lookout above Hepburn Springs, James asked. Sophia said yes before he finished the question.

The venue

Stones of the Yarra Valley, 14 St Huberts Rd, Coldstream VIC 3770. Approx 1hr from Melbourne CBD.

Transport

Buses from Healesville Hotel at 2:15pm. Return shuttle at 11pm and midnight.
